| Solar Heating |
By installing solar heating you can enhance the usage of your swimming pool up to eight months, of the year, and in some cases even or more. By using solar heating the energy from the sun is utilised free of charge, and you can swim in comfort from August to May. |
|
Solar panels are fitted to the roof. Water from the pool is channeled through the panels and is heated by the sun's rays. The water is then returned to the pool by the existing pool pump. With such an efficient system temperatures between 22º C and 41º C are achieved. This system not only absorbs heat directly from the sun, but absorbs heat by conduction from your roof. In effect, the roof becomes part of the solar system. |

Okay, how many panels do I need?
As a rule of thumb, the surface area of panels should be a minimum of 50% of the surface area of your pool. |
What about the materials used?
Rigid PVC 50mm Piping and fittings
are used to transfer the water between the pump and panels.
The panels themselves are made from high grade polypropylene
which are then welded completely with one solid weld to the
inlet and outlet manifolds. The panels are also treated with
a UV protective carbon which extends the lifespan. Typically
a panel will last you ten to fifteen years. |
